Friends of Drayton Junior

We are Alison and Nathalie and we are joint chair of the Friends here at Drayton Junior School. We are both long standing parents, having had two children already go through the school and currently both have our third children in year 3.

As part of the Friends we are keen to raise as much money as possible to help support the school and enrich every child’s experience while at Drayton Juniors. However we also believe that the Friends do more than just fundraising and that by arranging social events, we help make the school more of a community by bringing staff, children and parents together.

SInce last year the Friends have been incredibly active! We run half termly cake sales, school discos and the very successful Summer Social event! This year we will continue with this, but are also going to run a Quiz and Chips, and a Bingo for the whole family! There are more events in the pipeline, so watch this space!

In order to continue with this success we are always on the lookout for any parents, guardians or grandparents to join in, to be part of the Friends, or just help out at the odd event. We hold our meetings at the Cock Inn for anyone who wants to come along!

What have we done?

To date we have funded the school Christmas tree, Christmas crackers for the childrens Christmas dinner, library books for the newly refurbished library, contributed towards new colourful benches in the playground and we contribute to school visits to help keep the costs down for parents. Without your support we would be unable to do any of this.

How can you help?

Continue to support our events. You can also help by checking out the Community Lottery or Spree Norwich websites, all of which helps to raise vital funds for the school and the children. Is there someone within your child’s class who is on the Friend’s and can help to promote fundraising activities on the class Facebook page?

Join in!

Join the facebook group “Parents of Drayton Junior School – Events and Info“. We advertise everything that we are doing here, plus on the school Twitter page.

If you would like to be part of the Friends, please get in touch with Alison or Nathalie on the Friends email –
